As for the history of the City Palace, it should be said that it was first commissioned by D.A. Count Kaunitz in 1691, and finally finished under Prince Johann Adam Andreas I of Liechtenstein. The plans were provided by the architect Enrico Zuccalli, while Domenico Martinelli created the monumental Baroque portal at the entrance. Even in the 19th century, the palace was technically state-of-the-art. In this respect, it was known for its ultra-modern elevator construction and in-house intercom system.
