Mozart House
MOZARTHAUS
The Mozarthaus at Schulerstraße 8 is a museum of a special kind. Because here the visitor can walk in the footsteps of the pop star of Viennese classical music. In the house, which originally dates back to the 15th century, you can experience Mozart at home.
On three floors, the museum is divided into three aspects of Mozart's life in Vienna. The exhibition "Mozart's Vienna" traces the musician's personal and social position in 18th century Vienna. In the process, visitors also learn about other apartments Mozart lived in during his time in Vienna. But there is also a lot to learn about Mozart's social life. For example, the people with whom the artist socialized, the socio-political currents in which he was involved and how he spent his free time. Here you can find out why 18th century Vienna was "a wonderful place" in Mozart's eyes.

The second floor continues with the exhibition "Mozart's Music". Accordingly, this tour provides insights into the music scene in Mozart's time. For example, you learn about notable artist colleagues of Mozart. In this sense, you also learn about Mozart's collaborations with Lorenzo da Ponte with regard to various operas. But other works by Mozart, such as The Magic Flute and Figaro, are also illuminated here in multimedia form from several sides. Finally, the famous Mozart Requiem and the related end of the composer's life are not missing.
Finally, on the 3rd floor, with the exhibition "Mozart Apartment", you get to the heart of the Mozart House. Although the composer and his family lived here for only 3 years, this house was the place of origin of some of Mozart's world-famous works. Embark on an exciting search for traces of the child prodigy and his family!
