ARMY HISTORY MUSEUM
In the Museum of Military History in the Arsenal in Vienna's 3rd district, those interested in history and the military will get their money's worth! Because here is the entire history of the Austrian monarchy since the 16th century until its disintegration in 1918 treated. But also the years thereafter are documented from a military point of view up to the 2nd World War.
The focus is on the military role of the Austrian Army. And this both in the global and in the domestic context. In doing so, the museum sheds light on the ground formations of the Austrian army as well as the former function of the troops on the high seas.

Natural science and art history aspects of the army's history are not left out. Technology fans will also not miss out on this exhibition. Because on the basis of military history, many aspects of social life and the history of Austria are shown.
When the building was erected in 1856, the museum was already the core of the large military complex in the Arsenal. And the work of the architects Ludwig Förster and Theophil Hansen, as the oldest museum building in Vienna, can still be seen today. For the fusion of Byzantine-Moorish style with neo-Gothic is impressive.
