Viennese Christmas Markets
Viennese Christmas Markets
Vienna's famous Christkindl Markets, also known as Christmas Markets, are an annual attraction for tourists and locals alike! They also go back to the old tradition of the Viennese fairs. These were abolished in 1872 by a decision of the city council. And this was because they were considered to be out of date. The only fairs that were an exception were those held just before Christmas. And these became the so-called Christkindl markets.
Vienna Christmas Market - the ultimate Christmas feeling
If you come to Vienna around Christmas time, you can not miss this opportunity. Because a visit to the Christkindlmarkt is accompanied by a unique Christmas atmosphere. And not only because the air smells of cinnamon, lavender and punch. Because the decisive factor is also the characteristic atmosphere of punch, mulled wine and langos. The latter is a fried pancake soaked in garlic that is part of the Christkindlmarkt flair. But so are roasted almonds and handicrafts. Advent decorations, kitsch and Christmas music add the final spice to the ultimate Christmas mood.
