THIRD MAN MUSEUM
Film enthusiasts in particular get their money's worth at the Third Man Museum. The basis of the permanent exhibition in the Pressgasse in the 4th district, is the film classic "The Third Man" shot in Vienna.
Here you can understand the making of the film in its historical context with the help of extensive original exhibits. For the film from 1948 is accompanied at the same time by a detailed documentation of the post-war years and the period of occupation in Vienna from 1945 to 1955.

In this sense, in the 13 museum rooms you will not only get to see the famous zither of Anton Karas, which triggered the so-called zither boom in the 50s. In addition to the music scene of that time, the Third Man Museum also vividly presents the film scene of that time.
In addition, there are glimpses of original scripts and short film sequences. Original cameras and a cinema projector from 1936 also testify to historical authenticity.
But above all, the museum, like the accompanying film, illustrates life in war-torn and occupied Vienna.
A special highlight in the Third Man Museum are regular zither concerts with hits from the classic film "The Third Man".
