Vienna City Hall
Vienna City Hall
The Vienna City Hall represents in the category of non-ecclesiastical buildings Vienna, an outstanding sight. In neo-Gothic style, this special Ringstrasse jewel embodies the official residence of the mayor of Vienna.
The Rathausplatz is also a fixed program item for every visit to Vienna. Not only do various cultural events take place here, but also highlights from the entertainment industry. Around the year, seasonal highlights await you here. Whether it's the Christmas market before Christmas, the Vienna Ice Dream in the spring, or the screen operas in the summer. From time to time, there is even a circus here.
There are also free guided tours of the City Hall building three times a week. These take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m. and offer interesting discoveries about the city of Vienna.

History and architecture
In front of the building itself, the town hall park was completed. This was designed in 1873 by the city gardener Rudolph Siebeck. Only then was the foundation stone of the town hall laid, the construction of which was completed after 10 years of work.
With bricks as the basic substance, the facade of the town hall was clad with natural stone. These include materials such as slate, marble and lime. The 103-meter high main tower is crowned with the so-called Town Hall Man. In addition, there are four other towers.
The magnificent premises of the town hall also provide a setting for cultural events.
