Stadtkino Künstlerhaus

In the Künstlerhaus in Akademiestraße at Karlsplatz, there is an interesting new institution of the Viennese cinema scene: the Stadtkino. Where until 2013 the classic Künstlerhaus cinema was, the Stadtkino has moved in from Schwarzenbergplatz. As such, the cinema concept is new, but the establishment is dignified, old and, above all, beautiful.

Because the cinema hall in the Künstlerhaus is in any case a sight in its own right. Namely because its walls are furnished with magnificent murals. These visualise the fine arts and the performing arts, each allegorically. The overall work goes back to the artists Rudolf Holzinger and Rudolf Eisenmenger.

A visit to the Stadtkino in the Künstlerhaus is thus always something special, quite apart from the film!
