Café Sperl

Café Sperl is one of the most elegant representatives of Vienna’s traditional coffeehouse culture. Located on Gumpendorfer Straße in the 6th district near the Naschmarkt, it has attracted prominent guests since opening in 1880.

Even in the 19th century, archdukes, field marshals, intellectuals and artists were among the regular guests of this cosy yet refined café. Today, writers and performers from the nearby Theater an der Wien can still be found beneath its historic vaulted ceilings.

Café Sperl has long been recognised for its unique atmosphere. It is a place where visitors can step away from everyday life and enjoy a traditional Viennese Melange while experiencing the charm of another era.
