Krapfenwaldlbad sits high above Vienna on the slopes of the Cobenzl in the city’s Döbling district. As Vienna’s highest outdoor swimming pool, it is especially popular for its spectacular views over the city.
The pool is named after Franz Josef Krapf and opened in 1923 next to the former Waldhaus in the Krapfenwaldl. Today, the restaurant forms part of the protected historic bathing complex. The black pine trees growing on the grounds are also protected and contribute to the distinctive setting.
The swimming facilities include a large sports pool, family pool and children’s pool. A separate adventure pool features massage jets, while spacious lawns provide plenty of room for sunbathing.
Sports facilities include football, beach volleyball, street basketball and table tennis, as well as a trampoline area. Younger visitors can enjoy the playground and toddler slide. Food and refreshments are available from the buffet and restaurant.
