Dialogue in the Dark

Discover the best attractions in Vienna and plan unforgettable experiences.

When a blind person leads a blind person… What really happens then is something the adventurous can find out at Vienna’s Dialogue in the Dark.

Because in this show at the Vienna Schottenstift, visitors can no longer even see their own hand in front of their eyes. They are guided through the rooms by genuinely blind guides.

This creates a unique dialogue in which sighted and blind people swap places for an hour. The blind guides handle the “dark situation” with ease. Visitors thus depend on their help when it comes to mastering everyday situations in the dark. Whether it is crossing a busy street, shopping in the supermarket or finding your way around a cocktail bar. All these undertakings have to be managed “blind”. And that with a wide range of background sounds and floor surfaces.

The whole experience is also treated across cultures. A dedicated station is also devoted to the everyday life of blind people in Africa.

And if you need a special kind of refreshment after the tour? For you there is another special surprise:
At the Dinner in the Dark, guests are treated to an exquisite 4-course menu in complete darkness!
