Stadtpark

Discover the best attractions in Vienna and plan unforgettable experiences.

The Stadtpark in Vienna is a popular meeting point for young and old. Because here you can picnic to your heart’s content, feed swans and ducks, or simply read on a sunny park bench. In any case, there is always lively activity in this charming garden. But over 65,000 square metres of space, everyone still finds a quiet little spot for themselves. And for the very smallest there are even two fully equipped playgrounds available.

The Stadtpark lies along the Stubenring and merges into Vienna’s 3rd district, Landstraße. It was built in 1870 according to plans by the landscape painter Josef Selleny and is oriented towards the English style.

But between roses, magnolias and lilac plants there are also numerous historic sculptures and monuments in the Stadtpark. The ambience, too, is very varied. Because among the business people on their lunch break, there are also newspaper-reading pensioners, roller-skating children, prams, students and tourists. And everyone gets their money’s worth here!

But the star among the Stadtpark sculptures is and remains the undisputed Waltz King! Do not forget to take a selfie with the golden Johann Strauss!

And if you really want to treat yourself, the Steirereck restaurant in the Meierei is recommended. Here the menu is guaranteed to be of the finest!
