Spanish Riding School

Discover the best attractions in Vienna and plan unforgettable experiences.

Another highlight of the Hofburg is the famous Spanish Riding School. Not for nothing are the 18th-century court stables described as the “most beautiful riding hall in the world”. Because the magnificent Baroque building, which goes back to Charles VI, offers a glamorous backdrop for a unique show.

After all, here visitors experience a ballet of a special kind. Because instead of delicate ballerinas, in the “ballet of the white stallions” you get to admire the famous Lipizzaners.

To the sounds of classical Viennese music, these well-trained stallions enchant the audience with a perfectly executed pas de deux and further feats!

But the training of the dancers is also worth seeing! At the so-called “morning exercise”, you can watch the stallions during their daily training.
Another option is offered by the “guided tour” for those who want to know exactly. Here you get detailed glimpses behind the scenes of the Spanish Riding School, with its architecture and its history.
