Kärntner Straße

For shopping fans, Kärntner Straße is also part of Vienna’s so-called „Golden U“, which it forms together with Graben and Kohlmarkt. Here the exquisite shops line up from St. Stephen’s Cathedral to the State Opera. On this popular strolling promenade between historic buildings and hip flagship stores, cars are likewise not permitted.

The Graben in Vienna’s city centre dates back to Roman times and is today regarded as the epitome of an exquisite pedestrian zone with a selection of luxury shopping options. Around the city’s great plague column, the Graben is lined with venerable buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries.
