Schönbrunn Zoo

Schönbrunn Zoo looks back on a long history. The zoo was founded by the Habsburgs as early as 1752. This makes it the oldest zoo still in existence in the world. Over time it has been renewed and expanded many times. With its breeding programme, Schönbrunn Zoo is committed to endangered animal species. Visitors are fascinated by the biodiversity of the zoo.

Danube Tower

The Danube Tower is a popular destination in the Donaupark in Vienna’s 22nd municipal district. The tower is 252 metres high. Two lifts take visitors to the observation terrace of the Danube Tower. The terrace offers a phenomenal 360-degree panoramic view over Vienna. The tower restaurant and the tower café rotate continuously around their own axis, providing a unique experience.

Butterfly House

In Vienna’s first municipal district, visitors can find peace and relaxation in the Butterfly House. The Butterfly House is located in an Art Nouveau building. Let yourself, too, be whisked away into the enchanting world of the delicate and colourful butterflies. Around 500 living and freely flying butterflies can be marvelled at all year round in the paradisiacal atmosphere of the light-flooded building.

Palais Liechtenstein (Garden Palace)

The Garden Palace Liechtenstein is a beautiful Baroque palace in Vienna’s 9th municipal district. The palace’s sensational garden grounds are known worldwide. Part of the private art collection of the Prince of and to Liechtenstein is exhibited in the palace’s gallery rooms. The palace is available as a magnificent event venue.

Palais Liechtenstein (City Palace)

The beautiful Palais Liechtenstein shines in new splendour after extensive renovation work. The palace is regarded as the first significant building of the High Baroque in Vienna. Just like the wonderful Garden Palace in Vienna’s 9th municipal district, Palais Liechtenstein belongs to the property of the princely Liechtenstein family. Imperial Crypt

In Vienna’s city centre lies the famous Imperial Crypt. Since 1633, members of the Habsburg family have been buried here. The magnificent double sarcophagus for Maria Theresa and her husband, Emperor Franz I Stephan of Lorraine, in particular leaves a lasting impression. Many visitors also come to admire the coffins of Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Sisi.

Anker Clock

In Vienna’s city centre you can marvel at a unique clock. The Anker Clock forms a connection between two buildings of the so-called Ankerhof. Every hour on the hour, a pair of figures moves across this bridge. The history-steeped Anker Clock fascinates children and adults alike.

Haus des Meeres

The Haus des Meeres is located in Vienna’s 6th municipal district. In the uniquely large building, visitors can marvel at tropical freshwater and saltwater fish as well as fish from the Mediterranean and local waters. Austria’s largest aquarium holds 300,000 litres of water. On the 10th floor is the popular tank for the hammerhead sharks. Another highlight is the ten-metre-long Atlantic tunnel.
