Prater

The tradition-steeped Vienna Prater promises fun and relaxation in the green for the whole family. The Ferris wheel in the Vienna Prater is one of Vienna’s most famous landmarks. Enjoyable hours are guaranteed thanks to the countless attractions. Popular ones include, for example, the roller coasters, ghost trains and the amusing hall of mirrors. In addition, the Prater is also a highlight from a culinary point of view.

Kurpark Oberlaa

If you are looking for peace and quiet, you are in good hands in the extensive Kurpark Oberlaa. The beautiful park is located in Vienna’s 10th municipal district, Favoriten, on the south-eastern slope of the Laaer Berg near Oberlaa. The large park extends over the fabulously large area of around 608,000 square metres. A free petting zoo and a wonderfully maintained playground delight the younger visitors.

Türkenschanzpark

The Türkenschanzpark in Vienna’s 18th municipal district fascinates its visitors with its charmingly designed park grounds. The countless pond and stream features, waterfalls and fountains are a worthwhile excursion destination. Children can let off steam on the playgrounds and feed the ducks in the park. Adults like to do sport here. The nice park café invites you to a cosy rest.

Volksgarten

The well-known Volksgarten in Vienna’s city centre was built in 1823 by order of Emperor Franz Joseph. In the middle of the garden stands the Theseus Temple, built by Peter von Nobile, with the Theseus sculpture by Antonio Canova. The Corti coffee house in the garden was always of great importance. Today it is known as the popular disco pavilion in the Volksgarten.

Setagaya Park

The Setagaya Park is a beautiful Japanese Garden in the 19th district. The park came about through a friendship and cultural agreement between Döbling and the Setagaya district in Tokyo. The extraordinary park was designed by the Japanese garden designer Ken Nakajima. Visitors to this park will even find a tea house and a Japanese watercourse.

Stadtpark

The Stadtpark offers a large recreation centre in the middle of the city. Picturesque meadows, large water surfaces and ornamental shrubs make relaxation easy. Large avenue trees screen the park off towards the Ringstraße. The Stadtpark contains 3 drinking fountains and some charming ornamental fountains. In addition, in the Stadtpark you find the most monuments and sculptures of all Vienna’s parks.

Schönbrunn Palace

The beautiful Schönbrunn Palace in the 13th district was the former summer residence of the Habsburgs. The stately building is known for its imperial state rooms and a magnificent garden complex around the palace. Maria Theresa, Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth once resided in Schönbrunn Palace. The palace is one of the most beautiful Baroque complexes in Europe.

Donaupark

The Donaupark was laid out in 1964 in the course of the “Vienna International Garden Show” on the site of a former landfill. Today it is a popular recreation area for young and old. In the Donaupark there are play and sports areas covering over 32,000 square metres. Striking is the 252-metre-high Danube Tower in the park, a technical masterpiece and Austria’s tallest landmark. It is regarded as a symbol of modern Vienna. At a height of 150 metres, you have a fabulous 360-degree panoramic view over the city.

Kahlenberg

The Kahlenberg is one of the most popular excursion destinations around Vienna. The mountain, located in the Vienna Woods, impresses above all with its stunning view. On clear days, visitors can look not only at the entire city from above, but even at the Schneeberg, where Vienna’s mountain spring water comes from. The beautiful, legend-shrouded Kahlenberg is 484 metres high and has a long history.

Augarten

Here you can enjoy nature to the full. The Augarten, a largely public park of the Federal Gardens, impresses with the oldest Baroque garden complex in Vienna. Nature lovers should not miss the well-tended parterre garden with its elaborately designed flower landscapes and the extensive avenues on a visit to Vienna’s Leopoldstadt.

Burggarten

The Burggarten was once laid out for the emperor and his family. Today it is a popular destination for young and old. Emperor Franz turned the Burggarten into a natural jewel with many new plants. Over time, the Burggarten was redesigned in the style of an English landscape garden. Visitors to the garden can thus admire numerous green spaces with lakes and monuments.
