Naschmarkt

The Naschmarkt is by far the best-known market in Vienna. With around 120 market stalls and eateries, the market in Vienna’s 6th municipal district provides a colourful culinary offering from Viennese to Indian, from Vietnamese to Italian. With its many nice little eateries, the Naschmarkt has become a popular meeting point in Vienna.

At Christmas time, Vienna is known all over the world for its beautiful Christmas markets. Visitors can expect countless small, lovingly decorated stalls. The most diverse handicrafts and other things that are excellent as gifts are sold. Numerous stalls offering hot mulled wine and other delicacies take care of the catering.

Rochusmarkt

The Rochusmarkt in Vienna’s 3rd district is regarded as one of the smaller markets in Vienna. It covers only around 3,500 square metres. However, with its 40 market stalls, this market is one of the most popular in the city. Visitors to the Rochusmarkt find a small culinary oasis. In addition, the adjacent shopping mile invites you to stroll. In the past, only flowers were sold at the market.

Brunnenmarkt & Yppenmarkt

The market is located in the 16th district on Brunnengasse, which opens onto Yppenplatz. After the Naschmarkt, the Brunnenmarkt in Ottakring is the largest market in Vienna. Around 170 stalls await you with their diverse range. However, you notice immediately that the street market is quite a bit cheaper than the Naschmarkt. The trendy local scene at the Yppenmarkt is also popular.

Karmelitermarkt

The Karmelitermarkt is regarded as one of the oldest still existing markets in Vienna and is an insider tip among the Viennese markets. The market comprises around 80 market stalls. The popular market is visited by 7,500 visitors per week. On offer, alongside international cheese specialities and horse meat, are ripe fruit, crunchy vegetables and various organic treats such as smoked meats and various dairy products.
